VR images in the classroom: Coasts
This image shows the shingle bar at Bossington, North Somerset. It stretches across Porlock Bay and was recently breached by storm waves. Despite the negative impact of salt water on the fertile alluvial farmland of the Horner Water flood plain, a decison has been made by planning authorities to allow "managed retreat" of the coastline.
The image of Sidmouth clearly shows a number of hard engineering methods designed to reduce coastal erosion.
